how to "search" for the quests not done?

when the guide shows for example 95/97 how to search for those 2 quests? is there a magic button?

You can rightclick the next step button to race through a guide. It will then skip all green steps.
If it stops at set hearthstone or travel steps just rightclick the button again.

However I'm not entirely sure if the quest count shown by the guide is always correct. Maybe because of included steps or impossible quests (sometimes you have the choice of 1 out of 2 quests for example the breadcrumb quests opening up new zones) mess this up.

thank you for the replay. I was safe about the right click but sometimes, as you pointed out, there are quests who become active only when you done the previous step; and the guide marks them all as undone etc.

Except the breadcrumb quests for which sometimes only the turnin step is at the beginning of a guide all quests where the guide stops should be doable.
Normally when there are two alternative quests WoW marks both as complete so the guide won't stop then. For example you can either get a breadcrumb quest from an NPC in a previous zone or get the quest from the Hero's Call board. If you complete one of them the guide will show both as complete even if it uses the other quest.
It's mostly travel steps or steps with an explanation that need to be confirmed where the guide stops fast forwarding.
