Gear suggestions are for wrong spec

When I play my protection paladin and check gear suggestions, it's set for Holy. So I change it to Protection. Next time I logon, Gear suggestion is again Holy. (over and over).
Same thing for my Demonology Warlock. Gear suggestion keeps changing it back to whatever the default for it is. I didn't check other classes, but it looks to me that the Spec doesn't get recognized and that what I set doesn't get saved.

So before I start playing, I have to check everytime to set the spec right.

Do you by chance have your loot specialization set to Holy for your pally?

I was informed by one of our devs that the gear system always gives you suggestions based on your current spec. Sometimes the options can finish loading before the server tells the guide viewer what your spec is so the options just use a default spec to show.

This means what you are seeing is that the guide viewer is getting loaded faster than the game server telling the guide viewer what spec you are. The options default to showing you the first spec on the list but once the game server does tell the guide viewer what spec you are then that is used to show you gear suggestions. So this is just a visual mismatch only and the gear system is using the correct spec weights for the suggestions.

I'll run Pawn as a double check for now. It doesn't use quite the same stats, but I can see if something is way out of whack:-)

What do you have the loot preferences set to in the game? You can be on one spec but tell the game you want loot from a different spec. Our gear system might be picking up on this if you have it setup for the other spec.

I've noticed that problem myself with the gear suggestions. It's a bit tedious but i find logging in and out of the character to work.

I just started using Zygor today... First thing I noticed is that I'm Demonology Spec'd and the Artifact weapon is Spine/Skull. It keeps trying to change my weapon to the Scepter of Sargeras which is for Destruction Warlock.

Go into the gear system settings and disable the auto-equipping of the gear and that will give a pop-up suggestion instead. When it suggests to equip the staff hold Shift and click on the Decline button and that should generate a gear system bug report that you can then copy and paste here.
