Herbing guide

Hello there! I am one of those that likes to work up my professions as I am leveling. It breaks the monotony of it all. So when I activated my herbalism guide once I got to 40 (I'm not a total masochist. I like being able to ride a little faster) the first step level 1-70 seemed to work out very well. Once I got to the next though, it sends me all the way out to Hillsbrad Foothills (I am alliance).

I know that for Alliance side questing it doesn't even take you all the way out there to level, which means that someone that's not familiar with game isn't going to have any of the flight paths or really know where to go. On a side note, the path system isn't accurate. Once you step out of ironforge the travel system sends you in the wrong direction.

I guess I'm just wondering if this is intended. Running all the way out there with no flight paths doesn't seem like it would be the quickest way to level herbalism.

The profession guides take you to the best zones to gather the materials and unfortunately Hillsbrad is the best one for that level range in herbalism. Most people wait until they at least have flying in the old zones before they start up those gathering professions and the ability to level herbalism faster in Hillsbrad makes up for the amount of time needed to go there.

You don't have to worry about level of herbs to gather from max level zones now so you're actually better off just waiting and doing it in Draenor zones.

Sorry to keep Necroing old posts I just try to cut down on clutter unless you prefer just starting a new one..

Herbalist guide on step 6 it sends you out to farm to level 150 then step 7 become a expert in Herbalism.
You can actually learn expert @125 (from Tannysa) and then farm in the area on step 6. I wasn't getting skill increases past 135.

We have it like that because you are already in the area going from 70-125 in step 5. We'll check into that Frozen Herb not giving skills past 135 and adjust the guide accordingly.

Actually, not to necro my old post, I came here because at 125, on yet another character, I came back to this area. This time, the frozen herbs are grey at 125 and will not give skill ups at all.

Yeah, I had someone report that over the weekend about the frozen herbs. We have it on our list to be looked at.
