Dread Wastes start isn't set up right

It sends me into Dread Wastes to click on a rope to go up the wall. Problem is, the rope isn't there till you descend from the wall to begin with, and the guide doesn't tell you how to get up to the wall, causing a lot of frustration and wasted time, something I don't think this guide is mean to do.
