We respond to all emails within 24 hours so if you did not get a response it means it either went to your spam or we never got your email.

Have you tried disabling your anti-virus to see if that is blocking the client? Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling a fresh copy of Java?

I am getting the popup that Java 1.6 is required. I have Java 9.0.1 installed. I am on Windows 10. It is not anti-virus.

Try uninstalling Java and then install a fresh copy of it from www.java.com. The 1.6 message is just the minimum version number of Java needed for the client to run. The wipe of all Java and then a fresh install should get you going again on Windows.

Uninstalled all mentions of Java, reinstalled 9.0.1. Still getting popup about 1.6.

However, noticed able to get Zygor to open if manually opening Zygor.jar instead of clicking the ZygorGuidesClient.exe. Only problem with running the jar is that Zygor does not show in Task Manager. Only Java itself.

Zygor has never shown up in the task manager even when using the .exe simply because it's a Java program so Java is what shows as running in the task manager.

What happens if you uninstall the client and then install a fresh copy of the client. Does it still give issues with running the .exe?

You can not uninstall the client as it does not appear in Windows Add/Remove Programs. I had to delete the folder manually from AppData/Roaming, which is a stupid place to install program files. Why does Zygor install there and not Program Files?

When I run the installer, I get "This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0" window. I still have Java 9.0.1 installed. It looks like the program can not support nor detect Java 9, only 8, which expires in January 2018.

Note that when you click OK on the message, you are taken to download Java Version 8 Update 151 NOT 9.0.1.

There is an uninstaller.exe file within the installation folder that you can use. As I stated previously Windows will not put the client into the normal add/remove programs section because it is a Java program and not a Windows program.

It is not installed in the Program Files folders because there are issues with Java programs having proper permissions to run when inside those Windows folders (Program Files and Program Files (x86)). There have been issues with the client not being able to install or update the guide files when it's installed in Program Files because of permission issues in that folder so we have it default to the AppData folder where it can work without problems.

The Java 1.6 message you see is the minimum version number of Java required for the client to work. It WILL work with Java 9 on Windows, but you must first completely uninstall Java 8 and restart your computer before doing a clean install of Java 9.

I can not uninstall Zygor either as I get the This application requires a Java Runtime Environment 1.6.0 message again when trying to run the Uninstaller from AppData\Roaming\Zygor Guides Client\.

The only way is if I manually delete all Zygor files from my computer and manually delete all Zygor registry keys. All of shit to do just because Java can not be detected by Zygor.

I first had Java 8 Update 141 which then updated to 9.0.1. Error began. Uninstalled just 8, leaving 9. No change. Uninstalled 9 and reinstalled. No change. This is where I am currently.

There may be something wrong with the EXE file as if I run the JAR file, the Java 1.6 message does NOT occur at all. If this continues being a hassle, I may just cancel my 3+ year sub. No idea what you guys are going to do when 8 is dropped by Oracle in January 2018 if this is not fixed.

Try these steps for a Java reinstall.

                        1. Open the Windows settings for your apps and uninstall all instances of Java
                        2. Go to your Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders and delete any leftover Java folders
                        3. Restart the computer
                        4. Go to www.java.com and get a fresh copy of the Java installer downloaded
                        5. Run the Java installer and when that is completed restart the computer again

After that try running the client again.

Please install both Java 9 and Java 8.151, or just keep Java 8.

Java 9 is still in beta, and not supported as far as i know.

Performed all of the steps -- Even removed Sun & Oracle folders under AppData, reinstalled Java 9.0.1 -- No Change, Still getting the message that Java 1.6 is needed. Can you confirm that Zygor can detect 64-bit Java? The download page for 9.0.1 only shows 64-bit builds by default.

Our client programmer is checking into this to see what he can find.
