In the blog, they state, "our desktop web application, which started off as a vanilla Rails application, but has evolved into an Ember app." So, I looked into emberjs.com and found a GREAT framework solution! You may ask, "That's all fine and good, but what we need is a launcher desktop app for Windows. How do we make this with ember?" The answer is electronjs.org.

You are close there, however it should be "... what we need is a launcher desktop app for both Windows and Mac."

We are looking into other things for what can be done for a new client that will work with both OSes and would move us away from Java. Don't worry, we're constantly watching for ways to improve everything.

Well, you will be happy to know that Electron is cross-platform and builds for Mac and Windows.

BTW, I can confirm both the CurseUI.exe and TwitchUI.exe are Electron apps. If you have their app installed, go to:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Twitch\Bin\Electron\
