Question to demand / day

Hi guys!

I have a question regarding the demand / day field. How exactly is it calculated?

• Is this the demand / day since the beginning of time in WoW?
• Is this the demand / day in a certain time span (e.g. last week / month / etc.)?
• Or is it calculated differently (e.g the amount of auction house updates I made)?

So can I easily trust on this? For example, many low-level crafting reagents show 0 / day. And I ask myself if this true and I can sell these items without regret.

The demand is for the last 30 days. It is a guesstimate only. The AH API does not contain information for if an auction sold, ran out, or was cancelled early. We can only take our best guess as to which of those happened and then base the demand off of that.

I do not know the timeframe used by TradeskillMaster (30 days, 6 months, a year, lifetime) but I do know they calculate things in a similar fashion. They parse the Blizzard auction house API the same way Zygor does, getting the exact same data. From that, they must calculate sold per day somehow. I am just pointing out that Zygor is doing only what is possible.

What I can tell is that low level crafting materials like herbs and ores do sell in the auction house, usually for inflated prices because hardly anyone actively farms them. There have been times where I rather sneakily bought the starting zone herbs from the vendor for a few copper when available, and turned around and sold them for a few gold. Yes, Peacebloom and Earthroot and Copper Ore kind of stuff, and it doesn't seem to matter that I sell them in incomplete stacks. Sometimes between 1-9 as I get them.
