Actually that is kinda normal. For some reason when it gets installed the uninstaller it downloads keeps getting corrupted in the process. You can grab a fresh one to run from here. http://zygorguides.com/javaclient/dist/Uninstaller.exe

Uninstaller worked fine. Beta client is working for me as well, although I find it a bit clunky. Guess that's why it labelled "beta."

Does the "beta" still rely on java?

No, the beta does not need Java so you may uninstall that if using the beta.

Try using the beta client from the members area.
