Using Zygor Guides For The First Time

When you first go in game after installing the guide, you should instantly see the Zygor Guides Viewer displayed on your screen. It will detect the race and class of your character and will automatically begin loading the appropriate guide for your character.

At this point you may want to aquaint yourself with the guide viewer interface. You can move the guide wherever you would like on your screen by dragging it. You will also notice either an arrow or a moving circle on your screen. This is the waypoint arrow built into Zygor Guides. This will point you where to go and will show a circle when you have arrived at the intended destination. Like the guide viewer, you can click and drag the arrow wherever you like.

Before you begin leveling with the guide you might want to famialiarize yourself with the Guide Interface Overview. You might also want to Customize the Zygor Guides Settings to your liking. After you have everything setup the way you like you are ready to begin power leveling with the guide.

npcIn the Step Area of the guide you will see the first instructions telling you what to do. In this example, the first line says "Go to 48,42". These numbers are where the specific step objective can be found in terms of longitude and latitude. You will need to install a third party addon such as Coords to see these numbers in game. This is a feature that is just there if you'd like to use. Due to our Built-In Waypoint system you do not even need these numbers. Instead, the number will point you directly where you should go. So follow the arrow until it becomes a circle shape.

You've arrived at the intended destination. The next lines tell you to Talk to Marshal McBride, and Accept the quest "Beating them Back!". This lets you know which NPC (Non-Playable Character) you are supposed to talk to and which quest to pick up from them. The guide detects everything you do, so as soon as you complete the instructions the step will automatically advance to the next step.

The guide will often have you enter quest hubs and pick up a whole bunch of quests at once. You may notice the guide skip over certain quests available in an area. You can be rest assured that there is a good reason these are left out. Often quests require you to go out of your way, offer low experience and poor rewards, are too high level, or are just a waste of time to do.

This isn't as much of a problem with the release of Cataclysm which greatly improved the overall questing layout of the game, but there are still a few exceptions.

After you have picked up the quests the guide will send you off to start completing those quests. In the step below the guide tells us to kill 6 Blackrock Battle Worgs. As you complete objectives the guide will track your progress as you go along. As you see in the example below, the guide has detected that 3 Battle Worgs have been killed. The background will slowly change from red to green as you complete each objective. When all quest goals have been met, it will automatically progress to the next step.

After you've completed all the quests the guide will then return you to the quest hub to turn in all the completed quests. This is the basic structure to the whole guide. It will of course get more complicated as you go along but that is all you need to know to get leveling.
