Molten Front Issue

The 1st time teleporting into the Molten front you don't say what to do. The 1st thing to do is to kill the slag thing that Malthion (sp) is hitting. I had to read a lot of posts to figure this out. Afterwards, then I could turn in the 1st quest in the Molten Front in that little cave thing - turning that one in unlocks the other dailies.

Did you do the Firelands Pre-Quests guide or the Quests guide first? The way the guides are setup for Firelands is first you want to read the 'How to' guide in the Mount Hyjal section. Then once you have anything in there finised you then run the Pre-Quests guide. Once you've finished that you do as much of the Quests guide as possible, then when you can't do any more quests due to stuff being locked then you switch over to the Dailies guide and run that until you unlock more stuff to do in the Quests guide. After that it's just a matter of going back to do more quests once you've done enough dailies to unlock the next section.

Yes, previously I finished Loremaster and did as many quests in Mt Hyjal as
possible, followed the dallies as many as I could do and all of that as you
lay out. I did the pre-quests until the Molten Front was unlocked and I had
that quest to Teleport into The Molten Front and I could actually do it
(took a while to figure out after getting the quest that I had another one
or two quests to finish before the portal unlocked) - that was not the
problem I am referring to. There was also the quest to go along with it and
forgot the actual wording of it, but it said I had to do something like
investigate the Molten Front. But there in front of me as I fell out of the
port was the Slag thing fighting the Malthion guy. I didn't know what to do
and ran all over the place trying to figure out what to do - nothing showed,
no red marks over the Slag thing, etc. Then read the Wowhead posts and
figured that I needed to kill that thing, and learned that if health was low
I could port back out, get health, port in and continue fighting the slag
thing until it died. At that point the scene changed and I could turn in the
quest in that little cave thing, then I could find all the other quest
givers.

Another follow-up email:

Actually, as I was tracing the sequence of events back through my mind this
morning (while in bed - lol), I realized that after I got the Zygor step to
teleport to the Molten Front, that I was NOT able to do that. So I went back
to Metaclaw (sp) and other daily quest givers to see what else I could do. I
figured that I had to complete some sort of other quests for the unlock. I
finally found one NPC that had the yellow quest thingies, and not directed
by Zygor. I got 2 quests from him, one was for in the molten front. Then
another daily came available for me (blue thingy) and when completed the
gate was unlocked. So then I was able to teleport and that is when I had
trouble - as the Zygor Guide didn't have that quest in the path.
