Tried multiple ways to add a .jpg to a post. Doesn't work anymore.

    Tried multiple ways to add a .jpg to a post. Doesn't work anymore.

    I don't know why, but I cannot add a 'picture' or attach a very small jpg image to a post. It used to work, but it isn't now. There is no error message that I can see that explains why it isn't working. The file size is very small, so it should work. If it were an inline image, that would be great (since it's a tiny jpg).

    Even after I "Add" the file by choosing "upload," it doesn't even show up in the group of other images I've added in the past. Confusing.

    Can you give me a procedure to follow? Is this already a known issue, or not?

    Sounds like this might be a new issue. We'll have to do some testing and see what's happening.

      As a workaround you can use an image hosting service. I don't know how good Imageshack is now, I use a German service called abload.de.

        Use this forum's tools instead of your 3rd-party website, since it's this forum I'm testing.
        1. Add a "Picture" (inline image).
        2. Add an "Attachment" (attached image) to the topic. (Try using the "Manage Attachments" tool).

        Edited: Please use this Topic thread to test image(s).

        If it works for you and not me, then I'll be really confused at to what to do. It's too time-consuming to use 3rd-party websites with all the logging-in, uploading, capturing links, returning here, then applying it to the post.

          Ok, here is some testing using just the forum Manage Attachments tool for both pictures.

          Brand new picture upload (inline image):

            YOU GOT MY ATTENTION! MY FACE HAS A BIG SMILE ALL OVER IT!

            But, now I have to figure out why it isn't working for me. I'm hoping that it's something I'm over-looking, or doing wrong. I don't think so, since the procedure is self-explanatory, and I've done it in the past. I just can't figure out why it isn't working -- yet. I'll try again.

              Give me a little time kreelor, I'm working on something that should help you and anyone else that has problems with the image attachments.

                I tried it again, several times. After choosing the .jpg image that I want (from my local computer), then telling the forum to "download" it, I get the same error each time. The error says something like "IOError: .... and then something about "Bubble..."?

                I even renamed the file so that it had no spaces in its name, and was shorter in length. Still didn't work.

                I couldn't copy the full error message text, since it kept disappearing! Maybe mentioning "Bubble" will give somebody some clue?

                  I saw this statement in the FAQ, but it had no pertinent info about what the QUOTA number is.

                  "What files types can I use? How large can attachments be?In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board."

                  Could this be an issue in my case?

                    I doubt it's a quota issue in your case kreelor. Since you're having an IO error it's most likely something browser related. Try using a different browser to see if that helps.
