Also seeing this when a dailies quest giver gives me something (e.g. Mulgore Spices):

Can you try doing a fresh guide install and see if this error still pops up. So far you're the only one to report it so at this point I have to think it's something specific to your computer.

Fresh install of Windows 8.1 x64, fresh install of WoW and Zygor, sorry

Have rebooted and still getting the error. Will try on my Windows 7 laptop and see if that's affected.

Ok, please let us know if Win7 makes any difference. I've added this to the list for the dev team to investigate.

Hmm, not doing it on Windows 7. That's an older installation, though, with more add-ons. Deleted and reinstalled the guide on my new Windows 8.1 box and it's still doing it, unfortunately.

Are you running WoW as admin on both computers? It might be some kind of system security that's not allowing the addons to interact properly with WoW on the Win8 machine.
