I was having this error as well. This last update fixed it for me.

When you look at the Addons list (either at character selection screen or with Escape key in game) what version does it say the guides are?

Same Error

I also just purchased the guides about a hour ago and I get the exact same error when I bring ESO up.

I just purchased the guide moments ago and I am also getting the same error.
I disabled every addon I had in case that made a difference and it didn't.
Basically I enabled the addon for all my characters and logged in with a level 22 character and the error window came right up as per the previous screenshots.
I have version v1.0.8963

Seems like we have a bug on our hands. Our eradicators are on their way, there should be a fix within minutes.
