    Travel Guide Waypointing

After deleting the Zygor-related files from my WTF/Account name/Saved Variables folder and then configuring the Viewer Travel System to use "Lazy, Prefer Flights" option, here's what happens now. The guide arrow and its text shows properly, but now there is never a step with the graphic pointing to the closest flighmaster. It always gets bypassed. I've tried on several of my char's and on two different realms, restarted the game, etc. Note: I have checked the box telling the guide viewer to use it. What do I do now to get it to work like it did yesterday?

I hope I understand it correctly.
The waypoint arrow only points directly to the target coordinate of a step instead of using a flight master?

The first thing to do is to manually visit a flight master and open the flight map. This is necessary to let the guide know which flight points the current character already knows. I don't know if you need to do this only once or after visiting each continent.
But you need to do it with every character.

Thanks for replying. You are understanding the problem correctly. However, your solution confuses me. Why would I have to revisit every flightmaster in the game? Doesn't Blizzard keep track of that? I've been to every flightmaster in the entire world of WoW, and I really don't see why I have to do that again.

The guide needs to know which flight masters you have unlocked for the character you are playing.
WoW does not allow the guide to fetch that list on login (like the completed quest list), only when you open a flight master's flight map the guide can fetch all available flight points.
You don't need to visit every flight master. Just go to the nearest flight master and open the flight map there. If you change the continent it's possible you need to visit a flight master there, I'm not sure if the guide can fetch flight points across the continents.

If you use the guide while leveling a character it keeps track of that because of the "get flight point" steps. But if you reset the guide by deleting the saved variables file the guide does not know which flight points you unlocked anymore.

Yes, as Cartman says we can't get a list of all the flight paths you know from the game server, Blizzard just doesn't allow that. Once you go to a flight master and open the flight map we can then 'see' all of the flight points you know for that continent and we put them into a SavedVariables file so we can remember them. We then keep adding any new ones you get to that file.

Since an EK flight master does not show you the flight points for Kalimdor (or other continents) you will need to visit a flight master there so we can learn those flight points as well. So make sure you visit a flight master on EK, Kalimdor, Outlands, Northrend, and Pandaria.

Thanks to both of you for replying. I finally got all my guides reinstalled and have been experimenting with the guides (and FM's). From what I've noticed, even though I visit a FM in Pandaria, for instance and then select a guide... It still requires me to use the first FM for me to get to the 'unknown' FM at the destination. Then, I have to accept that new FM. That method means the guides can't use the Travel System to tell me to use the first FM to get there. The Travel arrow merely shows the distance in numbers of yards to get to a point -- not a FM by name. It's workable, but still a great pain. I'm sure I'll have it fixed a year from now, since I have so many char's to update (on 3 realm servers). lol

            Thanks again!

So you're saying that the flight points are not updated when you open up a Pandaria flight master map? It still needs you to go to each flight master in Pandaria to 'learn' what flights you know there?

Yes. At least that's how it's been happening for the hour or so I experimented with it. Now that I've been logged off for awhile, I'll try it again and see if it has begun working as you suggested that it should work. I'll let you know.

It's working now! I was near my garden plots in Halfhill and selected a low level quest and the guide & arrow took me step-by-step all the way to Nagrand. Makes me very happy that I don't have to click every FM. I haven't checked any of my other chars yet, but I'm guessing it'll work properly for them, too.
Thanks! I'm done with this topic.

I believe your other characters will have to visit a flight master on each continent as well. I'm pretty sure the known flight paths are saved separately for each character so that way the arrow isn't trying to tell a lower level character to use a flight path that you haven't unlocked yet on that character.

You're right. Everything is working fine now. I only wish that Zygor's "Profile" included an option to "Use an existing profile to copy to all chars on this account." I have to do each one separately, but only once, thank God. I have char's on 3 different realms to deal with. Way too many, I know. It will just take time. I'm just glad it's working again -- except for the issues I thought would have been remedied. They are still there.

What exactly are the issues you are still seeing?
