How do I find pets I do Not already have?

Not sure I understand the functionality of the /pets part since it shows me guides to pets I already have... How do I find pets I do not already have? How do I get a List of available pets by level, then get the Guide to help me get them? if all it shows is the guilde...for pets I have already captured?

What am I missing?

Open up your in game Pet Journal and use the built in filtering options to show the pets you have not found, pick one you'd like to go get, and click on the Z icon by that pet's name to load up that guide.
