Memory usage bug possibly related to pointer arrow

    Version 4.0.10561

Using the alchemy guide to harvest my own northrend herbs, I first noticed a bit of a "stutter" in framerate every time the pointer arrow would direct me to a new waypoint, then realized it was also stuttering every time I entered a new area on the map, started watching memory usage by reading the tooltip on the system icon.

Initially the zygor guide showed using 84megs of ram, now it's showing 148megs, and the number is increasing by 1/10th every single second.

The memory usage should be variable and every so often it should release used memory and drop back down again. Do you see this happening? Also, stuttering might be caused by an addon conflict. If you disable all other addons do you still see a stutter?

The memory usage is variable and will reset if you switch to different areas within a zone or different zones, however when I was sitting in Ormigar for the last hour or so the memory usage climbed to almost 250meg, I've never seen that before. I tried disabling all addons except zygor and the stuttering persists, there is an almost indiscernible "fps tick" to the game with the latest version of the guide, like a metronome ticking in 1sec intervals with this slight jitter to the game, like microlag or something, and it appears to relate directly to this 1/10'th meg increase in memory usage, the two appear to be perfectly timed.

Try doing a guide reset by exiting the game, going to your WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder, and delete the Zygor files in there. Then try checking if the stutter is there with only Zygor enabled again.

I get exactly the same issue. I have tried only Zygors loaded. Cleaned my saved variables also. As soon as I disable Zygor's the stutter disappears. I am flying around Icecrown right now. Every time the location pops up on screen to shows a change in location the stutter occurs. To be honest, this has been apparent to me in Zygor's for years. It just seems worse now, even though I have a brand new and much more powerful computer.

Deleting the Saved Variables does eliminate a lot of the lag, but it does not get deleted completely.

Try using the wrench icon on the client to reinstall the guides and see if that makes any difference.

Though minimized / closed the guide viewer is still calculating the route to the last destination which can cause some stutter depending on how complex the route is.
At least it did in the nearer past before patch 6.0, I did not check if it still does.
You can try removing the waypoint (rightclick the waypoint arrow for options) before closing the guide viewer and see if the stuttering goes away.
