the guide wants me to click a shimmershroom and collect volatile spores, when I got up to 11 spores it marked that part off as being complete, even though it needs 12 volatile spores to be completed.

The guides don't count how many you have, it just uses the information for what Blizzard gives and marks that step complete when Blizzard tells us that you have completed that particular quest objective. Maybe there was a little bit of lag and the guide viewer saw a message about that being complete when it wasn't. There isn't too much we can do about that particular one since the step completion is entirely dependent on Blizzard telling us that you have completed that objective.

thanks for the quick reply, I thought zygor guides counted how many we have...my bad

Yeah, we had done that a lot in the older zones but with the new WoD guides we started using a different method of just letting the game server tell us the status of the quest objectives since it was keeping count already.
