Scan crashes game every time

Whenever I run the scan it completes to about half way then crashes my game, was on the forums earlier and I took the advice of turning the intensity down from default to low in the settings but it still crashes.

Do you have any other auction addons that are doing a scan at the same time? That would definitely overload the system and crash it.

I typically have Trade Skill Master as to post items quickly, but even with every single addon except zygor disabled it still does it. Could it have anything to do with that I'm running on a DSL internet connection?

DSL is still considered to be high speed internet even if it is slower than cable. What server are you on so we can try to do some testing?

Sorry for bothering you before but I figured out what was wrong.

Pro tip: Don't download torrents while scanning the AH on a crappy connection. It will crash.

last night I scanned the ah no problem but today it is crashing every time I do a scan. no new addons.

no I checked that after reading the first post. the scan starts and then about 2/3 the way through it freezes and I get disconnected.
I didn't have this problem yesterday or this morning. but since about 5pm it has been doing it. other then that wow runs fine.

Have you tried turning down the scan duration to low in the guide viewer options (Inventory Management section I believe)?

I have also experienced this, last night after pre-order, but only 1 time. Tonight however, on 2 different toons & servers. I though will be trying the scan duration. But similar to the OP, mine 'lag glittches' like it's catching and releasing something, then it boots me to the wow log on, disconnected from server.

For anyone who is using Auctioneer, in the core options menu under Scanner, there is an option called Scan manual searches and searches by other Addons that is ticked on by default. I found this setting and disabled it and now my disconnect problems have seemed to go away. /auc config will get you to the Auctioneer options. Prior to this I was unable to scan the AH at all without crashing if I didn't completely disable Auctioneer first. Hope this helps someone.
