Talador guide problem?

I've seen this a few times on a few toons, so I thought I would pop in here and ask. When I get to the Talador outpost and choose the type of outpost (I always choose the artillery tower) the guide steps turn grey and immediately fast forward through all of the steps and then suggests I go to Spires. I didn't tell the guide to skip to the next section or anything, I'd like to stick around Talador. I can manually step through the guide, the arrow points to the wrong place and manage to get through, but it's pretty annoying, is there something I did wrong, or is there a bug?

Ah, so I re-logged while it was in a darkened/skipping state and it reverted back to normal. When I logged in it asked me if I wanted to skip to the Spires section, it looks to me like it's automatically skipping to Spires initially.

So for you when you pick the building at step 5 it tries to skip everything else in the guide and go straight to the end of the Talador guide?

Yep, that's exactly right. I know I'm ahead in level as I've got the heirloom gear on, so it appears to me that the guide is automatically forwarding me on to Spires just after I select which outpost I'm going with without asking. When I stop it (I was prepared to as I've seen it do this multiple times now) and I just manually step through I can do it, but logging out and back in again it prompts me if I want to go to the Spires portion of the guide. Hope that helps in describing the problem!

Just for a sanity check, when you open the guide selection window (small drop down arrow on guide viewer) what does it display in the lower left corner for the version number? Also, have you tried re-installing your guides to see if it stops doing that?

Version number is 5.0.11840, I have not yet tried a re-installation, would I lose my profiles? Is there a recommended way to re-install?

You would not lose your profiles. All you have to do is exit the game and then run the Zygor desktop client. Click the wrench icon on the bottom right of the client and select reinstall and that will take care of it for you.
