Question about the Kill monster macro

So on your guides normally you would have a macro that would be enabled to make searching for npcs so much easier to find and then kill and so on. Well lately since I resubbed to you for some reason the macros are always broken. The macro will never find the monsters that I need to kill and I have to go manually looking for them myself. Kinda annoying when you need to level fast.

I know when the macro isn't working properly as when it does there would be a skull next and when the macro isn't working there would be a dot. I have a picture to show.

What can I do to make the macros work 99.9% of the time

I think the macro doesn't work on steps like in your example because it is listing more than one type of mob to kill. I believe the macro only works for finding them when it's only one that is listed.

Surely though it should be supportive to multiple monsters which are part of the quest? Like kill 10 of the something family which could be like 20 monsters.

I thought the macro stopped working a long while back and you had plans to bring it back "some day" ;-)

Yes and no. It's a macro that is called when you click an icon in the guide viewer to target an NPC that's listed in the step but it's not something you can add to your hotbar because the macro is constantly being deleted and recreated with each step.

Sorry to necro an old thread, but thought I'd keep it all one area.
The targeting macro is no longer working at all for me. Any idea why ?

Nope. Several slots empty.

Only other thing I can think of is have you tested with all other addons disabled? Either that or maybe something in one of the Legion patches broke it.

I'll try it again tomorrow. But a quick question. Should a macro be present in my actual character macros, as I haven't seen any ?

I'm not positive anymore. I know in the past those icons used the macro system to create macros that would be used when you would click on the NPC name to do the targeting but I know there was talk of getting rid of the macro side of it and get it hard coded to do it. There is also a possibility when we removed the normal macros a bit ago that it also removed the ability for the targeting stuff on the guide viewer to work. Not sure.

I've tried it with only Zygor running and no joy. Hope you can get it fixed.
