Travel System - Weird travel suggestions

i was trying to use one of the gathering guides in gold system. I understand that i dont have deepholm portals but this travel route really confused me.

The topic sounds right, although my issues are with different travel suggestions. I am on my Alliance Demon Hunter in Stormwind, and wanted to do the demon invasion in Tanaris. The travel system suggested taking the boat to Borean Tundra(?), then fly to Dalaran(?) and then hearth back to Stormwind(?).

Since I have no tricky items, wouldn't the best route be to fly to Booty Bay, then boat to Ratchet? Can easily to the Northern Barrens invasion at the same time.

We are working on re-writing the travel system and that should eliminate these wonky routing suggestions.

The problem is that the travel system often messes up the route when you switch the zone through a portal, a teleport spell or switch the continent.

Apparently in your case the travel system first suggested a proper route as it's probably much faster to go to Tanaris from Stormwind by using the the Caverns of Time portal in Dalaran. I think the flight from the harbor in the Tundra to Dalaran takes about 4 minutes while flying from SW to Booty Bay takes more than 7 minutes and after taking the boat there you need to fly down from Ratchet to Gadgetzan.

There are often routes that are much faster than the obvious ones. I for example still have my hearthstones set to the Shrine in Pandaria as there are portals to all major cities and running around there from the tavern to the portals does not take that much time.

About the issues with the travels system messing up the route, you can rightclick the arrow and then have the option to re-check the route. In any case where a route got messed up after zoning doing this fixed it for me.
Not the most comfortable solution but at least a working one until the travel system gets fixed.

Yeah, during the fishing dailies in Northrend, I've been told to teleport to Tol Barad (Mage) then take a portal to Org, and repeat.

It's super frustrating. I have to right click the arrow and read the route. Nothing else works, not even rechecking.
