Guides make no sense in Barrens

The Barrens guides have you spending an hour farming the Centaur Bracers and crap and then don't even have you turn them in - it tells you to fly to Undercity without turning anything in!
This is terrible. Slowest leveling guide on earth.

Did you play vanilla, or is this your first experience? WoW Classic is a drastically different game than what you play on retail. You move between zones a lot, instead of going to a zone and doing all the quests there all at once. The game is just designed differently, it's a lot less linear, and you will have to grind a lot, it's the nature of the game.

I did play vanilla, but my point is that the guide has you do the centaur bracers quest and then before even turning it in it has you fly out to undercity to quest there. Instead of just walking right over to turn in the quest you just finished, it has you go to the other continent.

But that is not true. The guide tells you to gather the bracers, and 3 steps later tells you to turn in the quest, never sending you to silverpine beforehand:

Sometimes it makes more sense to use a hearthstone to travel quickly, and turn in quests later, giving you a nice chunk of exp. It doesn't always make sense to run back to town to turn in quests, it just depends on what you need to do next, and when the next time you return to that quest hub is. The only time it could even be an issue is if you're accepting other quests that the guide doesn't tell you to, which sometimes may be fine, but sometimes not. With Classic limiting your quest log to only 20 quests, we design the guide assuming players will just follow it and do what it says, so that we can take full advantage of the 20 quest limit.

But back to the issue of holding onto quests without turning them in immediately, if you look at any leveling guide for vanilla/classic, this is common practice, even though it's much less common in the retail game.

Since quests/enemies do not scale to your level in Classic, you have to think about what could/should be done in the entire world, not just in the zone you're currently standing in. This makes the leveling process, and thus the guides, much more complicated.

Leveling 1-60 in Classic takes longer than 1-120 in the retail game. It's a long grind, but please try to trust the process, we will get you to 60, I promise.
