Grinding is NECESSARY in classic wow

Really happy with the way that the guides are improving based on community feedback. Although I hope it isn't reflected too much on people complaining about grinding rather than traveling long unnecessary distances. Grinding is definitely a thing in classic wow. If you aren't killing mobs on your way to an objective (providing it is in a decent level range to your own) then you aren't leveling as efficiently as you could otherwise. Heck some streamers and power levelers even grind out full levels after they reach 30 because it is not feasible to be the right level for the next zone from quests alone.

What about dungeons? Why is it better to stay in a zone, slaying mobs in a particular area rather than going into a dungeon (better for the pockets as well)?
