    Zygor Action bar button glitching

    Hi there,

I recently purchased the guides which I'm enjoying quite a bit, however I wanted to double check if this little buggy zygor action bar button is supposed to glitch and jump randomly like this after pre-patch.

I'm referring to this zygor feature that will create a square which can be keybinded in order to have quest items used easily, under "Settings>Guide Viewer>Zygor Action Buttons".

First time I experienced this, I thought it was gone, then I noticed it was hiding behind the minimap almost completely, so I dragged the whole guide mid screen to troubleshoot; the button itself (Zygor action bar), after unlocking the Zygor viewer (padlock), will constantly stick to some parts of the screen randomly upon trying to move it Once dragged it will go back and fort jumping around. I recorded this video hoping it will clear things up: https://youtu.be/91RRU8IM8ow

I managed to get this positioned where I wanted at the end of the video by really trying to move this button around until it stops jumping, however it feels there're parts of the UI where this bug is being triggered and some others in which it won't.

    Testing with:

    - No other AddOns enabled.
    - After creating a fresh new toon and leveling a bit in a new server.
    - Happened to max leveled toons as well in different realms.

    Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

Two things to try that come to mind.

First is go to character selection and disable the guides, then log into the game while they are turned off. Then go back to character selection and enable the guides again. This logging in and out while they are disabled should do a reset of the window positions within the game files which might resolve the jumping around.

Second thing to try is a full guide reset.

    1. exit WoW
    2. go to the WoW/_retail_/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
    3. go to the WoW/_retail_/WTF/Account/<your account name here>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
    4. run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guides
    5. go back in game to test and let me know if that fixed it

Hi there! Thank you so much for your suggestions, I think I figured out why this is happening.

TL;DR: It is because of the snap/magnetizing feature of the Zygor action button against the viewer frame when using a size other than default. The button will always try to snap into place if you move it close to the top left corner of the viewer; thus, if the viewer itself is smaller, it will clamp to another position and create glitches.

So I did some testing through the character selection; enabling/disabling like you mentioned. And I did get the window position reset which made the button stand in place.

Once I tried to move the guide around and/or the zygor action button around, the problem persisted though.

Now, I totally understand this is not how we're supposed to run the guides of course, the button should stand in place and that's it. So, I went ahead and tested 2nd solution... same result. I even deleted Cache/Interface/WTF folders and ran a repair from the Battle.net client.

Once it was done repairing, I logged in with my toon and then back out. Proceeded to install Zygor from the desktop client fresh and started the game just with Zygor installed. So far so good, the action button was moving without and issue and that's when I noticed it was because the size of the viewer itself was back to normal. You see, in that video I shared earlier I was using a smaller viewer, I reduced the frame size because that's how I usually play, then I realize the action button has this snap feature that will lock the button to the viewer frame itself once you move the it closer enough to the top left corner of this viewer. Sort of snapping in place, magnetizing to be able to move both the viewer and the button as a whole.

Therefore, once I reduce the viewer size again, it is when I noticed the button started jumping. Like if it was trying to snap to that left corner of the viewer frame without matching the new reduced size.

Here's another video where I go over all of that: https://youtu.be/TbYmjWLtX94

I'm sorry to bother with such a thing. It's clearly not game-breaking or anything like it, and other than that, the AddOn is working perfectly. I hope this can be revisited and maybe some other user out there is experiencing the same. I'll stick to the original viewer size for now.

I'll pass this on to our dev team for them to check on it.

I've had the same problem today.

          Its over multi characters
I've reset windows, deleted guide, cleared out folder etc and still have the glitch.

          Link to video of problem.

I've played about with sizing of windows etc but it doesn't stop it 'snapping' back to the top of the video guide after every use.

With limited testing on multiple characters, it appears to happen when you leave combat, not when you use the button, or enter combat.
It happens regardless of having the guide hide during combat or not.

If my guide windows is at the top of the screen, the button jumps to behind the top left point, of it isn't at the top, it jumps to the top left point abouve the guive viewer window.

Didn't use to happen, only seems to be since the pre patch.

            Hope this helps.
