Talent build for a Mage

So, I have the 2.0 guide with the talent stuff in it. First off ;et me say I love how the talent guide plugs into WoW itself. Very sweet module.

Now, my little level 19 mage (got 4 levels in 2 days via guide) is built around a fire tree to try and level. I saw under the builds there is a leveling fire build (which I map into perfectly) but I also saw where the guide "was built using a frost build" or some such. So I am wondering if I need to respec.

Anyone try to level a mage via fire and frost to know which works easier?

We prefer the frost build when testing the guides because of the increased survivability. Fire has more DPS though so you will probably level faster if you are good at staying alive as fire.

Thanks. Sounds like I'll simply keep going down the road I am on and if I run into problems then I'll respec to frost. So far I do get killed every once and a while but not annoyingly so.
