will there be any problem that i had to reformat my hard drive and starting in te middle of the guide?

The guide will not remember what step you were last on, unless you wrote down the step you left of on. However, if you were using the guide recently, I would think it will be fairly easy for you to find where you left off, without too much trouble, as the guides have not changed enormously since Version 2.0 was released. I did the exact same thing when I upgraded to Windows7 on one my my systems. It was easy enough to get back where I needed to be even though I did not write down where I was ... level and quest number.
