[Abyssal Rune] AND [Sundial of the Exiled]

They activate relatively frequently and when they do activate it's mostly in conjunction! I love the extra 1190 SP

Abyssal Rune == me want. That has been on my list of go get for some time now but I never run normal ToC anymore

Sundial I am torn on. I have about four different runes I am thinking about swapping between for 2nd trinket, not in order:

• Sundial of the Exiled
• Twilight Serpent - like the 2 sockets
• Sapphire Owl - like the 2 sockets and the small mana regen
• Talisman of Resurgence

The owl could make a good mana boost between kills so that is easy as a swap trinket. Other three ... Sundial gives nice random proc SP but the Tailsman gives a nice guaranteed proc for say a boss kill so leaning towards those two as primary flop back and forth. Hit Tailsman for start of boss fight and flop back to Sundial.

But that serpent ... +int and an ok SP boos with 2 gem slots I can load epic +haste into *mmmm*

My guild was so pissed at me when my mage got the rune. The other casters/healers had to run ToC normal ad nauseum. I got it on the 2nd run of a night we set aside to get it for me. It's great when it procs.

I don't like the talisman of resuregence, the sundial and the rune have alomost the exact same effect, so if you can't get the rune, just go for the sundial. I got both because there aren't any trinkets I really like that are accessable to me yet. I can't wait for the Misguided Quill.

I'm assuming the Owl and the Serpent are for JCs only... I swapped engineering for JC for the epic gems and enchants. I don't think I'm going to go back lol.

It is hard to figure out which exact one you want. Per rawr for an arcane mage the rune is best for DPS but like you I am not overly excited by it. I see the benefit of having a rune with a huge SP boost that is a keystroke away. So I see it like this:

Normal running:
t1: Abyssal Rune
t2: Sundial
---> Swap to owl for a quick mana boost then swap back to Sundial (between fights)

Boss:
t1: Abyssal Rune
t2: swap to Talisman of Resurgence at the very start hit the proc
---> right away swap back to Sundial for the random 25% proc

In the end the serpent will prolly go by the wayside, but it is hard to give up those two sockets . And yes, owl/serpent are JC only.

Yeah, I figured... I was doing 25-man ToC and accidentally equipped some gray gloves... -sigh- needless to say that fight sucked .
