    Can't install

    I tried installing the guide but it gets stack half way thru and it has been stuck for 20 mins.

    Do you mean when trying to install the desktop app? Small white window with a progress bar?

        Open the attached zip file and extract the .reg file from within. Then double click on the .reg file to fix the Zygor registry entries and that should allow the installation to finish.

            Hello I had the same issue, I executed the .reg file to clean registry key related to Zygor but even doing so I now have an error message "Error opening file for writing:
            C:\Users\<myusername>\AppData\Local\Zygor\Uninstal l Zygor.exe

            With Abort/Retry/Ignore buttons.

            This seems like a writing rights related issue but no other application has trouble writing in the appdata local folder.

            The Zygor subfolder it tries to write into does not exist. I tried running the installer as Administrator but I still get the same error. Isn't there a way to have a portable version of the client with no installer ?

              Ok so I have found a workaround :
              - Disable Windows 11 ransomware protection controlled folder access feature.
              - Reboot
              - Install

              This is something that I hope ends up being adressed by the dev team at some point. Maybe it is a digital signature issue.. I don't know but the client should uphold Windows standards and not be flagged as dangerous by the OS.

                I've had no issues with the client or client installer on Win11 so your first guess about it being some kind of permissions thing is probably the correct one. I have never seen Windows Defender flag the client in any way so I'm not sure why disabling the ransomware protection worked for you.
