Venthyr assault not working and guide updater hanging

Ventthyr assault just keeps rapidly switching back and froth between step 1 and step 129. Also the updater is just spinning checking for updates

Try right clicking on the small Z icon in the task bar tray near the date/time and select Exit. Then use the desktop shortcut to restart the client. That should get the desktop app working for you, then check to see if getting the guides updated fixes your in game issue.

That fixed the updater but the venthyr assault guide is still broken and rapidly switching between step 1 and step 129

The guide is skipping from step 1 to step 129 and then looping back to step 1 for you? Or you just don't see steps for the current assault? Those are 2 very different issues and the one in the OP has been fixed.

The guide tells me to accept quests from NPCs even though I have completed current assault. I had to turn off the guide while I completed the assault.
