guides so often are mixed up

How to explain this... Multiple times I have gone to do a quest that has a quest that is a prerequisite to it. I am level 39 and the guides are sending me all over the place stopping at one zone only to have me come back to that zone 3 levels later. The quests it gives me to do have 3 or 4 quests that need to be done to be able to do the suggested quest. Very annoying to say the least. Retail guides never had this problem. Why is it such a problem for classic? It forces a player to go back two or three level guides to find the original quest, then sends you off in a totally different direction.
