Guild Master and guild addons
There are a few addons out there for guild masters that look great (guild master suite comes to mind), but don't actually work, and some do more damage than good. I was wondering if any guild masters could recommend some addons for me and my guild?
I'm GM for Titans of Glory, which is a member of The Older Gamers network (http://www.theoldergamers.com... we are alliance on Runetotem server. (note.... the older gamers have alliance and horde guilds, on a few different servers)
Our members wont like me using addons that are cheesy or not well implemented. As an example of a guild oriented addon they love, Ive implemented weekly guild lotteries and monthly guild raffles using the guild lottery addon. Its clean, works as designed, and brings a LOT of fun and a feeling of "our guild is cool" to the ranks.
Here are two things Id love to find in an addon.
1) B-days. Id love an in game system where I guildies could enter their birthdays, so that I could make announcements and send gifts, greetings and guild motd to the bday folks.
2) a newsletter sort of thing. The guild motd isn't designed as a way to keep guildies informed of the goings on and such. Not all guildies use the website, so that's not a viable option. We all use the calendar, but you can only post little things there. Id like to be able to send in game mail to all guildies with clicking send once.
anyway... sorry to ramble..... I'm trying to be a good GM, and I figured getting input from you folks would be helpful.
PS> if I win the lotto, maybe I'll pay zygor to sell me an enterprise version, where I could purchase seats to push to all members..... but.... unfortunately... Ive yet to win lotto. But I bet if I did this, my guild membership would grow quite a bit eh?
