Leveling a Pally

Ok,
So I have been gone from WoW for 5 years and now within the next 4 weeks I will be reinstalling and picking the game back up. I used to play a priest during burning crusade
The big thing is even with all of Zygor's help I am curious if anyone knows of a place, where I would be able to pickup CURRENT and useful information about playing the
class and leveling as ret and then switching over to holy. Preferably a site that has info
on the most current Raiding dungeons as well so I can start to familiarize myself with
the fights again from a healer standpoint.

For me the SpellFlash addon is very helpful as I play around with all classes and don't hae the time to gather information about spell rotations and priorities.

Thank you toltec very helpfull indeed, when it comes to choosing a server though I am not sure if you should go for high pop servers or not or just pick ones with well balances alliance and horde.

Server selection depends on what you want to do.
On high populated servers it is much easier to find a raid guild if you want to do that later. And the prices in the auction house are lower.
The negative thing is that certain daily quests may be a pain because of too many people going after each quest mob.

The balance between the factions is not so important but I recommend a sever where your faction is stronger. This reduces the chances that some funny PVP flagged enemies jump around in front of you to force you to accidently attack them when trying to click somewhere...

Well cartman, I was in a Top raiding guild Order of the Raven when it was an alliance guild on aggramar years ago and I played one of their top priests, so transitioning to a pally now should not be that hard I would think, I could be wrong, but I want to get into big time end game raiding again with my pally on a new server so suggestions would be helpful.

If you wanted to play on a German server with a Horde character it seems Blackhand is a good choice. Some mates from my Alliance guild switched over to that server and Horde and there are guilds that still seek people for their raids.

Looking at only the numbers for example Proudmoore seems to be a good US Alliance PVE realm.
Over 18000 level 90 Alliance characters should give a good chance to find a guild.
Area 52 is a pretty good populated Horde realm.
If noone here can give you more advice you can also create a char on that server, go to a capital city and ask the people in the chat channel what they think of the server.

Yea I think I will take a look at proudmore then, I was also thinking about stormrage as a good PVE server so its between those two because I know that I am going to play an alliance paladin.
