Error upon opening my Spellbook

This was the 3rd time this same error popped up, but the other two times were in other places and possibly even on another alt char. I finally decided to post this error, since it keeps happening to me.

Alliance, level 85 Human Hunter, Step 112 Twilight Highlands (84-85).

I don't know if the particular zygor step that I was on had anything to do with this, or not. The error happened when I tried to open my Spellbook.

Are you able to get it to do this when Zygor is the only addon enabled?

This is the case with several addons.

It seems Blizzard is to blame for it.

Tuller: So, with WoW 5.4.1, Blizzard introduced a change that now causes a lot of addons to display a, "<AddonName> was blocked" error message. It'll be up to Blizzard to really provide a fix for this:

Just today alone, I had the same error pop-up 3 more times and, it happened on more than one char. It always happens when trying to open the Spellbook.

Are you able to get it to do this when Zygor is the only addon enabled?

I didn't want to beta test the guide error, so I put it off until today. Today, the error happened again, but this time it happened when I closed the spellbook. So, I logged out, disabled all addons except for Zygor. I knew that it probably wouldn't repeat the error, since it never has repeated the error once it had occurred. In the past, it would only reoccur after I'd been logged out for a period of time or else switched chars. So, testing with all addons disabled except for Zygor, it didn't accomplish much. I really don't want to continue playing the game for an extended period of time without my other addons. The only thing I know is that the error points to Zygor and not to Carbonite, Notes, or Auctioneer. They are the only 3 other addons I have. Maybe it's Blizzard. I certainly don't know.

Is this happening always when you open or close the spellbook or only occasionally?
If it happens often enough to see it when using the spellbook a few times after login I can try to reproduce it with those few addons you use.
I personally never saw that error and I have a lot of addons running.
Maybe it's related to a library like Ace3. I have Ace3 running as separate addon and other libraries that in your case are outdated are more up to date on my machine beacuse they are loaded by a different addon.

I got this error with a level 16 Hunter but it does not happen on a Shaman.

Is this every time with the hunter and does Alliance vs. Horde make any difference?

Cartman mentioned the Auctioneer addon's "Swatter" utility (somewhere in another thread? I can't find it). Because of the way it functions, that would explain why the error pop-up can't be duplicated, even the the error itself is happening (invisibly).

Besides that, would the particular choice of any of the following Parental Controls/Game Rating Systems have anything to do with what is going on? For example, I have char's on both US Realms and also char's on the Brasilia (Brazil) Realm. Heh heh, I'm just grasping at straws trying to guess, in order to help out. This is a wild guess, but "Parental Controls" are mentioned in the error pop-up.

I don't think those Parental Controls are what's being referred to with the in game error. WoW has it's own parental controls that you can setup with the account and that's most likely what's being referred to. However I doubt the parental controls themselves have anything to do with it as most LUA errors often are started by something else and what you see in the error can often have nothing to do with the error. More of that screwy Blizzard stuff.

From what I've been told by a guildie who looked into it, the parental control error has something to do with what Blizz has changed in their progress on implementing the In Game Store

I just now noticed that users have reported it on the Carbonite addon forum and also on Bnet's forum's. So, unless all of them are using Zygor as well, the problem is caused by Blizzard, and not Zygor specifically. Note: I haven't tried Carbonite by itself (without other addons). No need to, at this point. I guess we'll just have to wait for Blizzard to fix it.
