The quests in the mine near Elodor should be done in one run.
Currently you are sent into the mine to do "Engorged Goren", got out, turn it in, go back into the mine and do "Shut 'er Down".

The guide should send you into the mine to do "Shut 'er Down" and while doing this kill Goren for "Engorged Goren".

Not sure but this may be intentional to help get more mob XP.

I don't think that little mob XP is really necessary.
And I'm sure others will complain about this
