Tooltip says Market is empty, sell now! when it's not empty

After synching, running a scan, and then doing an Appraise All, the Inventory tooltip for "Enchant Ring - Breath of Haste" says 'Market is empty, sell now' when there are many such rings in the Auction House and have been there for some time.

Note: This is not an isolated incident. It just did it again for "Sha Crystals". There are many Sha Crystals in the Auction House now. Once again, I scanned and appraised before hand.

How are you scanning? Are you using the Scan button on the Inventory window or are you using the scan button with a different AH addon such as Auctioneer or Auctionator?

I have noticed with Auctioneer enabled zygor wont always get updated data from a scan while Auctioneer is awesome for being able to more auctions and making it a little easier to spot auctions with the coin icon and purchasing them faster. I have been using Zygor with Auctioneer disabled to scan the AH then enabling Auctioneer to easily purchase the recommend items or reagent for crafting.

I have also noticed that if Zygor scans and their are EX Balckrock Ore on the AH but you buy them all out and grab them from the mailbox to resale the Blackrock Ore the APPRAISER feature wont update to note that the market place is empty unless you rescan the AH with the actual scan feature on the window attached to the AH window

I know there is some options with Auctioneer that (by default is turned on) will try to scan for items any time another addon is looking at items. If that option is turned on (I think it's in the Scan settings) it might be interfering with the scans. This might also be the cause of the Appraiser having a problem for you with getting things updated.

            A Couple of Workarounds

A couple of things you can do to work around the "Market is empty, sell now! when it's not empty" problem: 1) Click the "Appraise All" button. 2) Log out of WoW then log back in and re-scan the Auction House. -BK

I don't mean to be a troll, honestly, but one of the primary reasons I bought the Gold Guide was because the realm sync data was advertised to be up to date and trended in such a was as to help avoid wild swings and outliers. What am I missing? Why would I have to keep re-appraising and AH scanning? Please help me to understand. Thanks!

The current prices on the AH are constantly changing minute by minute. What you are doing with the scanning is just making sure you have the most current prices (not Historical Data) on the AH to ensure that the pricing we're showing you is competitive with the current market. The realm data that the client downloads is the historical trends for the items over the past month. Blizzard only allows queries to the AH information once every 2 hours. In that 2 hours time pricing can change a lot. Because of this we gather all of the pricing data and do some calculations to determine the historical trends for the items. Most other addons that do something similar require you to scan the AH a minimum of once per day for 2-3 weeks before you can even start using them properly so that they will then have historical data to use. We've eliminated this 2-3 week period for you so that you can start using the Gold guide right away, but since the prices on the AH are constantly changing the only way to be accurate is to make sure you're scanning for current pricing.
