fps issue the first time you log in to the game

hi i always have lag issue only when i first login to the game it starts going to 15 fps for a few seconds then it pops back up is that because it need to load zygor guide into the game its only for a few seconds?

That is a combination of the guides loading and the travel system initializing. You can turn off the travel system and that will reduce how long the lag lasts a lot but there can still be a couple seconds of lag if you own a lot of guides while those guides are getting loaded.

Is there a way or a future feature to only load guides that we want to use? Right now on my lvl 100 toon, I just want to use the Gold & Auction guide. Can these guides be a load on demand?

Right now, it takes about a good 5 to 8 secs for the zygor addon to load. When I'm switching toons and I have this addon load on each toon, the wait gets a little annoying.

That initial lag you see when first loading in on a toon is not the number of guides, that is caused by the Travel System initializing and loading up all of the different information it needs to route you around the game world. The guide files themselves get loaded during the loading screen you see before entering the world.

When I turn off the "Travel System", I still get the initial lag with this addon. When this addon is turned off, my initial FPS is at 60FPS+ just after I enter the world. When I have the addon enabled with the travel system turned off, my initial FPS is at 7 FPS for about 5 to 10 secs then it goes up to 60FPS+.

The travel system still has to initialize in order to be available should you decide you want to check the box to use the routing. Turning off the Travel System just tells the navigation to not try to find routes for you but instead just point to the destination.

So all this to say... Even though the travel system is turned off, you will still get some lag on the initialization of the addon.

I bet if none of the guides weren't loaded until requested, it would reduce the initialization lag greatly. But that's just an educated guess.

A more modular design to the guides to allow a load on demand aspect is a suggestion that we have 'on the table' and have looked over to see what we might be able to do on that front.

Truly its awful - with Travel system enabled I have timed my frame rate in the red at 3-4 fps to normal at circa 77FPs+ at 20 seconds delay - with Travel not enabled I have about 12 seconds delay. I do not have Auction guide and one or two other sections enabled. Zygor disabled it takes 2 seconds. When I did not have subscription (no AH and some of the other guides) it was about 2-4 seconds with Travel system enabled. Currently it resource hogs about 285MB memory and w/o Travel about 167 MB. That's a bloated footprint! At the moment even with turning off stuff I cant choose what I need as flexibly as I need and could in the past - I didn't have that issue with non subscription as I had only bought what I wanted. The Modular approach needs to get off the table as I feel the novelty of subs is going to wear off and people will go back to the old system if resource impacts are poor. So to summarise - no subscription and the guides I wanted I had minor memory and FPS issues loading - with a subscription I get a big memory load, FPS loading issues (and possibly game playing FPS issues which I am testing) and a number of guides loaded that are superfluous to me. I am beginning to regret the subs option.

This isn't even the worst part imo, Zygor using so much memory is a bigger issue to me. Hopefully you guys do take the modular approach to help mitigate this. If I didn't have a beast of a computer I don't see how it would be possible for me to use it without causing extreme performance issues.

when I use the guide in every battle my game goes to 4fps. Love the guide its just frustrating that it gets to a point were I need to disable Zygors to play.
