Gear Finder lua errors

    Gear Finder lua errors

    When I open the Gear Finder Tab it starts searching and after a few seconds comes up with nothing but a bunch of lua errors.

    Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.


    1. Exit WoW
    2. Go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
    3. Go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
    4. Run the installer client and install a fresh copy of the guides
    5. Go back in game and see if that fixed it

          I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, repairing. I don't know why it's saying zygorguidesviewer is not installed.

            What exactly is the message you you see that tells you that you have an error if you do not see an LUA error window open up?

                When you tried the above steps were you able to find the 2 Zygor files in the SavedVariables folder? If not please look again. Have you tried testing with all other addons disabled?

                  I'm pretty sure I found every file they said to find, I looked for stuff that started with Zygor. I believe in saved variables the second file was a backup file.

                  I just tried with every other addon disabled and get the same error. I just logged in at 6:05 to test it and when I went to the logs I see this:

                    I'm going to try one more uninstall and full clean out of zygor and try loading with all addons off.

                      Alright, so I turned everything else off, did a full clean and re-install. When I first go in it doesn't put the error in my chat box, but it doesn't come up with any suggestions. I went in and changed a couple settings and when I went back the refresh overlay was there and I could swear there were a few items under it. I was unable to reproduce that after that point. I couldn't get any results to come back anymore.

                      I logged in a second time and this time it's throwing the normal error it gives me in the chat box. Attached are the complete logs since re-installing.

                        The client logs that you are posting have nothing to do with the in game guide errors. You can ignore them.

                        Do this test:

                        1. Exit the game
                        2. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old
                        3. Run the desktop client, click the refresh icon at the top right, and then click the Install button
                        4. Go in game for testing

                        If you can not do any of these steps exactly as it is shown (looking at #3 here) stop and post here to let me know.

                          I haven't had a chance to try those specific steps yet, but if it helps, it seems to basically work on low level characters and kinda worked on my 92.

                          Edit: Scratch that...kinda works on my 36...it's suggesting a bow for my shaman >.>

                            Make sure you're using the latest version of the guides. We sent out an update today to fix the gear finder.

                              Deleting all the files and reinstalling Zygor worked for me
