Guide arrow no longer showing distance

    Hello,

So I just today decided to play WoW a bit again. The guide interface loaded fine, arrow was working fine, everything. However, the arrow spontaneously stopped showing distance entirely. It still guides accurately, although it seems like it isn't noticing when I hit waypoints in each step, but it's more or less working. It just isn't showing distance/time any more. It WAS showing those things when I started, then it just sort of stopped.

I'm playing the Worgen starting area. I tried disabling every addon I had running and reloading the UI, I tried restarting the game with no other addons running, I tried going into the settings and toggling the location display format, no joy on any of those.

Try doing a full guide wipe/reset.

    1. Exit WoW
    2. Go to the WoW/Interface/Addons folder and delete the ZygorGuidesViewer folder
    3. Go to the WoW/WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables folder and delete the Zygor files in there
    4. Run the installer client and install a fresh copy of the guides
    5. Go back in game and see if that fixed it

Done, and no such luck. Exactly the same issue as before.

        Try this for a test.

        1. Exit the game
        2. Go to your WoW/Cache folder and delete everything in there
        3. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old
        4. Run the desktop client and install a fresh copy of the guide files
        5. Go in game for testing

No change. Edited folders as requested, uninstalled/reinstalled all guides, still getting no distance or ETA.

So, an update. I think the issue might be with the Worgen guide itself. Like I said, I noticed that upon doing both fixes, the guide still had exactly the same issue, that is to say, the early steps were still showing distance and the later ones weren't. Upon completing the Battle of Gilneas parts, the guide suddenly started showing distance again. Upon leaving Gilneas, it suddenly stopped again. Once I left the Worgen starting area entirely and arrived at Darnassus, the guide started working again, and it hasn't stopped since.

That helps to give us a direction to look.

Incidentally, it's worth mentioning that during any steps where the guide would not show distance/ETA, it was also failing to acknowledge whenever I passed any waypoints on steps which have multiple guide points. It would stay locked on the first one. Additionally, it never once told me to hearth anywhere, ever.

Once I was in a zone where the guide was showing distance and ETA, the waypoints immediately started working fine, and it told me to hearth when appropriate.

Now obviously I don't know how your guides work but given that distance/ETA requires the guide to know where you are, recommending hearthing based off of distance requires the guide to know where you are, and waypoint tracking requires the guide to know where you are, my first guess would be some sort of disconnect between the guide and whatever system you use to track player coordinates within it. If there's anything I can do to get you more information in this regard, please let me know.

                Thanks!
