    How to clear "Recent" guides?

    Is there a way to clear (or reset) the list of "Recent" guides used for a particular character? Also, is there a setting somewhere to limit the number of things listed in each category under the "Recent" tab? (For example, I'd prefer if it only listed the last 5 leveling guides I used, etc.)

    You might be able to reset the Recent list for a character by using the Reset Profile button in the Profile section of the guide viewer settings. I'm not sure if that will wipe the Recent list also. If that doesn't work then the only option left would be to reset everything for all characters and I'm not sure if you want to do that. There is no setting to change how many recent guides are saved/displayed.

      Could you ask them to add this as a feature request for the future? Both a simple way of "clearing" the recent guides as well as a setting for limiting the number in each category, would be nice features to have.

        Yea, needs a clear recent button, tho I'd also like to be able to clean it up a bit and remove individual or completed guides from the recent list, not everything if possible.

        Resetting the character's profile in settings does not do anything to the recent section, it just resets the viewer itself (on reload) and unfortunately the cache file is per account, it should really be per character not account, as its very messy, there is old character stuff in there and sitting at 7.2mb which is huge for a cache file, and deleted toons aren't cleared from it.

        the only 2 ways currently currently are to either delete the cache for the entire account, which puts it back to first log in on every toon or edit the cache file, my cache file was in

        G:\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\Wow3\SavedVariables\

        the default is usually C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft i think...

        "ZygorGuidesViewer.lua"

        WARNING: As I just found playing with the cache file, may cause errors, if it happens, it may restart the cache file as i just found out, so watch the brackets, as one missing one may cause the whole file to reset, SO BACKUP BEFORE EDITING, luckily I backup my WTF folder every month.

        - Make a copy of it, just in case (Ctrl+C followed by Ctrl+V) in case you stuff up
        - open the original, you may have to right click it and click open with, then select Notepad
        (Notepad++ Helps you keep an eye on the opening / closing brackets, link below)
        - Press Ctrl+F and enter your toons name or guides_history for all toons
        - below that toon clear the section between the following

        ["guides_history"] = {
        },

        Make sure you leave enough open and close brackets, so the section should look similar to the above (see example of Cleared Section below)

        Not all cache files are the same, this one is all over the place, one of my characters guides_history section, is at the beginning of its cached section, the other is at the end, if its at the end make sure there is a second close bracket for the character's section (see example Check Brackets below).

        If you do lose your cache file, set all your characters up, then when its all clean, make a backup of that cache file, and whenever you want to reset it or if you lose it again, just copy and paste that into the cache folder, just an idea.

        To help keep track of the brackets opening and closing, use Notepad++ to edit lua files (free)
