zygor causing my game to stutter like its a pc from 20 years ago :)

Hi all, just installed a few days ago and think its great but have had to uninstall due to issues it causes me, would like to get this resolved or will not be able to continue with it , which i am sad about . When installed on wow, my screen stutters on general gameplay, no matter what settings i use or try to change. If i uninstall completely including saved variables as i have read on another thread, then start my game again , it runs perfect. soon as i reinstall and play a few min it goes all stuttery again . I have disabled all addons and tried it . Even if i disable this addon it still does it, i have to actually uninstall it from the pc for the game to run smooth again. I have looked about but cant find a solution . I am running 16g ram i7 4790k gtx 980 if that makes any difference. any ideas be welcome to try, thanks

The first things I would try are, in no particular order:
    • Run Disk Cleanup, which is built into Windows. You may have to use search or Cortana, but it usually is in the Accessories folder. Once open, select Clean up system files and select everything. If you get warnings, accept them and continue.
    • Get CCleaner, the free version. Run both the the Cleaner (check through both Windows and Applications tabs) and Registry. I never back up the Registry, but if you feel safer, there is an option. Run the Registry cleaner until it finds nothing. Also, if you are worried about saved passwords on websites, use the Options, Cookies then the < - > buttons to keep cookies you might want, like your bank website.
    • After those are done, use the GeForce Experience application, which you should have installed because of your GTX 980 and optimize all your games. If you do not have the GeForce Experience application, you can get it from nVidia for free.
    • You can also try paid driver updating programs. I use DriverAssist and it works like a charm. The reason I am not linking that is because there are several such programs, and you will have to find one you like. And if you find one that is free, totally, start-to-finish free, please let me know! The point being, Windows does a horrible job of making sure you have the latest drivers, especially drivers most people do not think about.

Try this for a test. It will make it as if you just installed the game for the first time and the only addon ever installed is Zygor. I'm thinking you have some odd corrupted file somewhere in the WTF folder which is where all of the settings for the game and addons are stored and a corrupted file in there can cause odd addon conflicts even if the addon it's for isn't enabled.

      1. Exit the game
      2. Go to your WoW/Cache folder and delete everything in there
      3. Go to your WoW folder and rename the Interface and WTF folders to Interface.Old and WTF.Old
      4. Run the Zygor desktop client, click the refresh button in the top right, and then click on the Install button
      5. Go in game to test and then let me know if that fixed it

If I'm correct and it's a corrupted file in the WTF folder you should be able to delete the new Interface folder and rename the old one back. That will put all of your addons back in place but with all default settings. You would then be able to test with your normal addons again and if still no stuttering then you can delete that old WTF folder and you'll be all set.
