Issues + Gold making with the guide in general

Hi guys,

I am a new subscriber to Zygor (not entirely true, but haven't been one in recent years so...) and I am, like many people, keenly interested in this Gold guide. I have used TSM for many many months and when I tried zygor (at a friend's house) I found that only the latter was actually making sales: TSM was just too slow.

But that leads me to my question: How do people actually make PROFIT with the addon (sufficient profit, mind you) specifically regarding the AH. Whilst I get that you can buy 500 Potions and have them all sell, the likelihood that that happens with sufficient profit is highly unlikely. So what do people utilise the addon to do?

And the addon is not without fault...several faults.

a) Once you buy 1 thing, you have to spam it for it to register another buyout
b) Scanning requires frequent reloading
c) Scanning itself often leads to a dc
d) Sometimes it randomly fails to scan
e) No cancelling with ease!

All of this culminates to a comparatively incredible addon becoming a nuisance, and regarding my question well..I would like to see how people utilise the addon to it's best potential. My personal best was buying 28 Vantus Runes: ToS for 1k and reselling at 3k each, and all sold that day!

Do you just need to know the market to know what to buy, or will everything just sell?

With regards to the bugs most of the scanning issues should be solved. Try manually deleting your ZygorGuidesViewer folder from within the Addons folder and then install a fresh copy of the guide files with the client.

A point about the buying of items, normally after a buyout is done it's not uncommon for the addon to do a quick scan of the AH to make sure nothing new has shown up or that auctions haven't been purchased. This can lead to a delay in the ability to use the Buy button.

The delay in this ability is absolutely humungous though - it's like 3 min worth of waiting. Also, I don't know if you can say this, but have you done, or had experience, with people that managed ot earn like 50k a day with the zygor gold addon or is that more TSM'y?

I know we had one person that told me they managed to go from about 80k gold to cap in roughly 2 months using the gold guide. That would be an average of roughly 165k per day, but I do not know exactly what they were doing with it to do that well. As with anything with the AH, experience will be different for every user because each server's economy is different and it's in a constant state of flux.

That's incredible! Yes, I know that the AH is in a constant rate of flux but I am more looking at the things like it telling me to buy 3000 of one item. Surely that won't all sell? (sorry getting a bit different and probably out of your 'comfort zone' here)

I also reset the guide and the same thing happened: after I buy one item it goes grey and 'buying' permanently. When I reload it then says 'no item found' and I cannot do anything with the item. Maybe a scan overload? It's just so temperamental. Otherwise, great guide!

The gold guide tries to estimate the demand of an item, how many get purchased each day. TSM has something similar in their tooltip info. There are some items that sell thousands each day so it's not unheard of to buy a ton of items that are below the normal value and then relist them at the normal value. They may not all sell but that would just be because of the sheer number of items that get posted and purchased every day and you're bound to be undercut. For something like that just set it to a 12 hour listing and then repost anything that doesn't sell.

When the button goes grey and stays there is there a change at the bottom of the AH window for what is going on? Is it showing it's trying to scan? Have you tried disabling all other addons to see if something else might be interfering?

It's not any addon (nothing else is there). It is showing it's trying to scan (I think) as it remains grey, but it is 'stuck' in the sense that once I make one purchase that FINISHES the shopping, it can't move on and just goes to the grey 'buying' screen. When I try to go off the AH and on it again, it just says no item found. This forces me to use tsm to buy the goods, which shouldn't be happening

We'll check into this. I believe there is still some work being done on the scanning aspects.

I can't speak for anyone else as far as making gold but, yes you can. I have and will continue to do well with the guide. It does have a learning curve. I do not exclusively "make"items and I do not permit the guide to do more than "guide"what I purchase and what I speculate on. If you choose to pursue gold making then expect to take some losses when unexpected changes happen. If you do this right, you will just put the items in the bank and pull them out when the prices rise.
I am trying to give you a straight answer without trying to tell you exactly how to play. The most common error I see is people flooding the market with an item that is selling "high". It is selling high because it is rare and if it is no longer rare it no longer sells well.
If you are looking for a one touch no knowledge needed way to get rich, there are none, if there were Blizz would fix it because that is not in the best interest of game play. However a good guide will give you the tools you need to make all the gold you want/need if you are willing to invest the time in it.
Oh, and just in case I wasn't clear, I have used about every guide and addon out there to assist in making gold and leveling my professions however Zygor's works for me.
