Clearing saved variables did nothing

Seems the problem was having a one handed tool in my bags Malicia's Scepter Combined with Light Imbued Lantern. The Scepter was a downgrade and the Lantern was a 100% upgrade

Have you tried this same thing with a clean install of the guides or with all other addons disabled?

Exact same error here with no other add-ons. In fact it didn't do this until I tried with a clean Zygor installation. After the clean install this error pops up every time I log in.

Edit: Even tried a complete clean reinstall of WoW and Zygor on a different computer that never had WoW on it. Zygor is the only add-on. Same problem every time I log in this specific character. Other characters don't give the error. Also maybe worth noting Zygor is unable to figure out what this character needs to do to begin the Draenor (90-100) quests. It seems to think I've already done these quests even though I only just reached level 90. It zips through the guide and tells me to go to the next guide and then tells me Destination Unreachable. No idea if these problems are related but for some reason Zygor seems to hate this one specific character of mine.

Update: After doing the first few quests of the Draenor (90-100) guide manually everything now seems to have fixed itself and I'm not getting any LUA errors anymore and Zygor is pointing me in the right directions again. I have no idea what is going on LOL!

I have tried with out other addons still the same error. The the install of Zygor was fresh has of yesterday. It seems to be occurring with certain weapon combinations. Not limited to the two I have listed.

The problem is when the offhand slot is empty. My guess is that this returns a nil for v.change. Changing line 691 to

if v.change ~= nil and v.change>best then

clears the error but the gear system now recommends off hands to replace staff when no main hand is available.

For this character, he's 90? Where are you standing and what guide do you have loaded or try to load?

I have seen it on different characters. One was sub 60. The other was 96. I had the leveling guide loaded. This appears to be a gear specific issues and not anything else. I would hazard a guess that the combined gear score of MH and OH remains nil some times when you are missing the offhand or main hand combo. So it can't rank you gear because it is nil.

When you see this again please let us know what you have equipped, what is in your bags, the level, class, spec, etc. The more information you're able to provide will help in trying to narrow down the cause of this.

Alright. I have one toon that is constantly doing this(With out the nil check on 691). And I haven't changed anything on him. This started when he was lvl 96 he is now 97.

If I do take its suggestion of upgrading it doesn't recommended equipping the MH(Also to note the combined score of MH and OH is less then the score of the 2H wep)
