client says I have latest update, but ingame says outdated. latest java installed

Help! My client says the guide is updated but when i am in-game it loads and says it is out of date and to update with the client. Im in a vicious circle.

Please run the desktop client, click the refresh button in the top right, then click on the wrench icon in the bottom right to do a Reinstall.

Is the Outdated because it can't update Thrall server trends since the API has been down since pre-patch?

Yes, that server trends is affected by the AH API being broken. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done for that one.
