Points of confusion

I'm currently playing mostly in Draenor, using the Frostfire Ridge guide. A lot of times, the guide is confused about where I am and what flightpoints I know, and the best way to get to where I need to be. This is ESPECIALLY prevalent in the Bladespire Cathedral based quests. If I am standing at the flightpoint and am supposed to be doing the quests at the ogre encampment at the bottom of the ramp, the guide wants me to fly to Worgol and then ride/run back. It should direct me down the ramp.

Another annoyance - if I'm in my garrison mines, the guide will tell me to use my garrison hearthstone to proceed with my quests - rather a waste. It should direct me to run to the garrison flightpoint.

I ran into a similar issue with the Tanaris leveling guide tonight - where the quest sent me to the Uldum Ruins, and then wanted me to hearth out (back to Gadgetzan) rather than running back to the nearby quest NPC.

Basically, I can't trust the guide completely. I have to think about where I'm supposed to go, and make sure it's steering me the right direction.

Despite all the above, I do enjoy the guides and find them tremendously useful.

Do you have the guides set to hide the precise directions?

I'm still getting strange directions from the Frostfire Ridge guide after setting Precise Directions to "on". For example:

The instruction box tells me that the next step is a quest turn-in. I am standing next to the NPC who has the gold ? over his head. The Arrow indicator is displaying my Garrison hearthstone and telling me to hearth to my garrison. The quest in question was Slavery and Strife, which you get from Guse in Bladespire Citadel.

That sounds like the behavior the travel system will do when it's not sure where you are. It will have you hearth back to a known location to try to route you to the destination. When you see it do that again next time try right clicking on the arrow and select re-check route to see if that changes it.
