To me it looks like the settings file is rewritten when an update is received. I checked the settings file for the suggested change kelnei suggested but mine already looked like the one he wanted us to change it to and now when I got a new update it set the autoimport to true again.

Just something I noticed regarding this problem. When the client starts and if you're quick enough and click on configure on gold trends you will see that the automatic import realms is ticked even if the settings says not to auto import. If there is just a trend update that is happening then it will untick auto import after a while. It seems that it reads the configuration file to late regarding that setting.
