Mark as Complete not working?

Hey, I recently subscribed to these guides, and am loving them so far, but I have run into a small problem. I was following the Cape of Stranglethorn guide (Alliance), and it guided me through the zone without problem. However, upon finishing the guide, it still shows it only as 98% completed. I went back in the guide viewer, and a couple of the steps that I most definitely did are showing as uncompleted.

I've tried right clicking them and choosing the 'Mark as Complete' option, which does indeed mark the step as complete...until I switch to another step, then it reverts back to uncompleted, meaning that I can't complete the guide.

So my question is that is something wrong with the viewer, or am I using or understanding the feature wrong somehow?

Most likely the game server does not mark them complete. Maybe a repeatable quest or something like that. The guide viewer marks stuff completed based on what the game server reports as the status. If you know you went thru the guide all the way you don't have to worry if it doesn't show 100%.

Aah, that makes sense. As a completionist I was just chasing that 100 percent tag, but if that's how it works, then I'll make do haha. Thanks for the answer.
