Classic Guide

Hey guys,

Just wondering whether you guys knew if the Classic Guide will be ready for the day of launch? I have a week off for launch and would love to be able to plan around the guide's release too!

We do not release products to be used during testing phases of the game. The classic guides will be available for when the servers go live in a couple weeks.

Will this guide work just as good as the retail one? Will it be 1-60 for both factions? Estimated time from 1-60?

Yes, it will be 1-60 guides for both factions. We do not have an estimated leveling time since it varies greatly between the classes in classic.

if we have the basic wow guide from back in the day..will that work with classic?

No, the old in game guides are from BC and WotLK. We never had an in game guide viewer in Vanilla. Also, the addon API is a hybrid between the old Vanilla API and the current BfA API so most old addons need to be updated to work on classic.

Will it look the same as the retail one? With auto skip steps, rep farming, mount farming, instance guide etc?
And will it be available right when classic hits, or a few hours prior?

The guide viewer will look like what you see in current retail but we are only releasing the leveling 1-60 guides right now. Things like auto-skipping steps that you've already completed quests for should still work but there will be no rep, mount, instance, professions, etc. guides at launch. We have not set a date/time yet for when we will be releasing it but it should be with enough time for you to get it installed before the server goes live.

Is it possible to please get a 1-5 free demo to test? I would really want to create a review for this and upload to Youtube, plus feedback before its released.

Not sure how you'd create a review on a demo for in game guides and have it out before classic launch when you're not able to get onto the classic test servers anymore.

I have my own server to play on. I host my own.

That is a private server and the guides wouldn't work on there. The classic servers use a different API than what you'd have on your private server.
