Question about how this is supposed to work.

This is my second guide that I have entered into based on suggestion and run into more problems. I am on darkshore 23-24, The guide suggested i start this section while i was on stonetalon 22-23. great i like an optimized leveling experience. While i was in stonestalon, another section that was auto recomended I came across a quest that required a turn in to open up. Now in darkarkshore 23-24 on step 13 talk to Volcor, it want me to turn in a quest I dont have: A lost Master. If you trqvel to volcar like the guide says he wont talk to you without that quest. I never was instructed in any part of a guide i have accessed to pickup that quest. This is the second time I have to goto wowhead to find out where to pick an intro quest, and its far away. Is this optimized if we have to go to an outside source just get back on track. I would understand this if I quested away from the guide but I have leveled 100 percent with the guides. Am I doing somehting wrong?

You are likely missing prerequisites from earlier guides. Classic is filled with chained quests and it's easy to miss a prerequisite quest if you had not been following the guide from level 1. Getting started in the middle of any questing guide will be a little rough. We recommend you load the guide for about 3 levels below you and start from there. Just skip any steps you can't do and before long you will be in sync with the guides.

I did start from level 1, why does the guide recommend starting a new guide before you finsih the guide you are currently working on? That is probably why I am missing quests.

Another example is when I finished redridge at 100 percent it recommended darkshore 21-21 because i was 21 but without darkshore 20-20 i couldnt do anything.....why did it recommend guides out of order?

Are you sure it's recommending that you load the next guide early? We haven't seen this happen at all in our internal testing. It only shows the popup to move to the next guide at the end of each guide section.

When you started at level 1, was it with the original guides that were titled like "Leveling 25-30", "Leveling 30-35", etc?

The guides were reworked in the early levels, and the titles of the guides changed to what you're seeing, "Darkshore 23-24", etc. Since quests were moved around in that rework, if you started using the guides before the rework, that may be the issue.

Try loading up the 12-17 Darkshore guide, and let it skip through things you've already done. Complete the steps it finds that you haven't already done, and keep doing that for every guide section after that, and you should be back on track within an hour or so. After that, you should have completed everything up to your current level, and it should be smooth sailing from there.

This sounds odd. I just double checked the "next guide" section for the "Redridge Mountains (18-20)" guide section, and it is set to send you to "Darkshore (20-20)", followed by "Ashenvale (20-21)", and then finally "Darkshore (21-21)". There isn't any way that it could be recommending guides out of order, as the Classic guides are not built that way.

Additionally, we haven't experienced that at all in our internal testing, and haven't received any reports from other customers of behavior like this.

Maybe try uninstalling the guides completely, wiping your Zygor saved variables, and doing a fresh install? Then try what I said in my previous post a few minutes ago, and you should be good to go.
