    Ant Trails and Heirlooms

    Hi,

Since pre-patch I have the ant trails and can't find how to get rid of them. There used to be a guide option to turn them off but now that seems to be gone from the Navigation tab.

The updated from today says 'Heirlooms no longer protected', why would that be? I can see for non XP boost heirlooms but it makes no sense to keep trying to replace the ones that give XP increases. Or at least give an option to stop the prompts, other than just disabling the gear options.

    Thanks,

    Brian

There is currently no option for removing the ant trail. I do not know right now if it will return or not.

Heirlooms no longer give xp bonuses which is why the gear system had to be updated to no longer try to force the heirlooms as the priority gear. The only bonus you get from the heirlooms now is in set bonuses that can reduce how fast you use any rested bonus but those set bonuses are not good enough to out-weigh actual stat improvements.

(With regard to the ant trails...)

For some reason, the folks at Zygor aren't interested in asking our opinion about removing options like this. There have been a few threads about it thus far with no good response from anyone with any decision making authority:
      - https://zygorguides.com/forum/showth...-WoW-pre-patch

As you can see on the 2nd link above, I included technical details on the options that were removed as well as the "new" options that aren't available for us to use yet. If nothing else, they could just enable those options and then make the opacity slider go all the way to zero, then we could make them "not visible", at least.

I'm going to wait until the new guides viewer comes out before I bring up the topic again. But, if we don't get some sort of option to turn them off, hide them, or make them "not visible", I'll look into writing a separate addon to to it. There is nothing more annoying than software removing options, for no good reason, that you've had for 10 years.

This option will be making a return soon, to retail, and will remain an option with ZGV8 going into Shadowlands.

Thank you so much for doing this and for taking the time to post about it here on the forums. I genuinely appreciate it!

Hi Zygor! I see the option has returned in the 7.0.23553 update, but even after turning it off and reloading the UI, the ant trail comes back as soon as I open the map.

Oops, this should be fixed now with the newest update.
