Does the guide auto detect any level character or just level 1 when you start a character?

If you want to use the guide with a character you've already made there's a somewhat easy way to get the guide and your character synced up.

First thing you do is find the spot in the guide where it says you should now be 2 or 3 levels below your current level. So for example if your character is already level 44 then find the spot in the guide that says you should now be level 42. At this point you just start to follow along with the guide. There will probably be a lot of steps that you'll have to skip because you might have already done the quests, but after a couple days of working with the guide you'll be pretty well in sync and won't have to worry about skipping stuff anymore.
